Welcome to the
August issue of our newletter.
This month you are given the chance to tell
others what you think of our website as we are
once again entered for the The Good Web Guide
"Website of the Year 2010" competition (we were
Finalists in 2009).
Its almost time for one of our favourite Tuscan
Festivals - the Greve Wine Festival and in
September you will find that South of the Tuscan
border in Umbria, a number of musical and art
events take place throughout September. Umbria
is easily accessed from the Chianti and is
certainly worth a visit.
Christmas is not that far away (sorry to remind
you) but if you are looking for something really
special and different for friends or family
members, why not take a visit to rock star
Stings shop! You can even walk to your
neighbours (Sting and his family) shop from one
of our villas!

The Good Web Guide
Last year, To Tuscany were finalists in the Website
of the Year competition and whilst we did not win
the first prize, we were awarded a Five Star
Recommended website rating. You can read about it
Many of you comment on how good you find our website
so, we would like to again invite our customers to
visit the competition website and give us a review
so we can again make the final shortlist and perhaps
improve on last year.
Reviews are open until 30 September with the
finalists being announced on 12 October. The
results are announced at the Good Web Guide award
ceremony in November.

Shop with Sting
For the second month in a row, rock superstar Sting
appears in the To Tuscany newsletter! As a resident
of Tuscany for many years now, Sting and his wife
Trudi Styler have recently opened a food store on
their Tuscan Farm Estate - Tenuta il Palagio.
All produce is organically grown and produced on the
estate. Items on sale in the shop include acacia
honey, vegetables, olive oil, salamis and wine.
If you would like to be closer to the shop and the
estate, To Tuscanys villa -
Casa al Ponte (sleeps up to 9) - is within
walking distance and has land bordering with Stings
farm estate - we cant guarantee that you will see
the superstar but you may be closer than you ever
Greve Wine Festival
The Rassegna del Chianti Classico is held at Greve
in Chianti which starts on the second weekend of
September on the Friday evening and continues
through until Sunday evening (10 - 12 September
2010). The festivities begin around 5pm on Friday
night but Saturday is the main day with the wine
tastings beginning around 11am and finishing around
8pm. You buy a wine glass from the Segretaria (10
Euros in 2009) and you can then visit the wine
stalls to fill up your glass and taste the wines.
The evenings usually finish with a fireworks
As one of the 5 main Chianti Towns of Tuscany Greve
is easily reached from all areas. To Tuscany has
properties accommodating from 2-12 people all within
a 15km radius of Greve. For details of the

Citta della Pieve near Perugia promises visitors
a "complete assault of the senses" at the
Aphrodisiac Festival. The programme has a number
of food, drink, music, theatre, dance, literary
readings and cookery demonstrations from 9th-12th
September. Why Citta della Pieve? The area has a
history of producing Saffron - an aphrodisiac!
Sagra Musicale Festival of Umbria
11th-19th September and this year will comprise
of 13 concerts of Classical music, Sacred music,
Gregorian chanting and other styles. Venues
include the cathedrals in Perugia and Orvieto.
If you love Classical music, this event is
certainly worth a visit. Venue and performance
