Dear Newsletter Reader

Welcome to the last newsletter of 2010 from To Tuscany.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our To Tuscany clients around the world a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and best wishes for the many religious celebrations over this period.

Below is the announcement of the photocompetition winners for 2010 and a link so that you can view all the entries.  We had some fantastic entries this year and would like to thank you all for taking the time to send your memories to us.  Our 2011 photocompetition starts from January so if you are returning to Italy with us, dont forget to send us your favourite photos.

Giostra dei Saracino
Jim Hartman - Giostra dei Saracino
We had many entries for our photo competition this year (the most entries in the 3 years we have been running it) and we would like to thank you all for sending them to us and for the quality of the photos you all took.

As always, there can only be one winner though and after a very close run judging, all of us at To Tuscany decided that this photo which captures the excitement of the medieval pagentry of the Giostra dei Saracino and sent to us by Jim Hartman of the USA was this years winning entry.

Jim wins a hamper of Tuscan produce which will be arriving in time to be enjoyed for Christmas.

All the 2010 entries can be viewed using the following link, you can also add your comments.

The Olive Oil is back!

Harvesting olives

During your stay with us in Tuscany, you will no doubt have noticed the many olive trees in the grounds of your villa or apartment and the surrounding areas.  The olives are harvested by hand in October and November and are taken to the local vineyards for pressing and packaging (click here for information on the olive harvest).

To Tuscany is once again able to offer exclusively a bottle of exquisite oil from the Casanuova di Ama winery (normally only available in the Chianti); we have stocks of their 2010 first pressed, Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The price is just 14.99 GBP per 250ml bottle which includes postage and packing within the UK - we can post to any destination, please contact us for postage rates.

The olives were picked by hand and have been pressed and bottled using
traditional methods with the help of local independent producers. Casanuova Di Ama has labelled each of the bottles which are typically Tuscan with a lip for easy pouring.  To learn more about the Casanuova di Ama vineyard, please visit their website: Casanuova di Ama vineyard

If you would like to order a bottle as a reminder of your holiday or as a delayed Christmas present for a food lover, please contact Lisa Leggate by email at lisa@to-tuscany.com or by phone on +44 207 193 7782 with details of how many bottles you would like to order, your payment details and the delivery address for the oil. If you would like to send one as a gift we can enclose a gift card free of charge. (Please let us know when ordering what you would like printed on the card)
