Gezellig Stadje Binnen Handbereik:
Op slechts 5 minuten rijden met de auto bevindt zich het charmante stadje Castellina in Chianti. Hier vind je gezellige cafés, lokale winkels en restaurants waar je kunt genieten van heerlijke Toscaanse gerechten.

Hartelijke Ontvangst:
De gastheer en zijn dochter begroetten ons met warmte en gastvrijheid. Ze gaven ons waardevolle tips over de omgeving en zorgden ervoor dat we ons meteen thuis voelden.

Ideale Ligging:
Casanovina ligt strategisch tussen Siena en Florence, waardoor het een perfecte uitvalsbasis is voor dagtochten. Ook het nabijgelegen San Gimignano is een bezoek waard.

Eerlijk gezegd hebben we geen enkel minpunt kunnen ontdekken tijdens ons verblijf. Alles was gewoon perfect.

Vakantiehuis was prima. Mooie ligging en de faciliteiten waren voldoende privé. Uit de beschrijving bleek niet dat het vakantiehuis ook bewoond wordt door derden. Door aankomst en vertrek (in de vroege uurtjes) ontstond wel enig burengerucht.

Pool und Aussicht top! Keine Frage. Kinder müssen schwimmen können!!! Es handelt sich um 2 separate Wohnungen/Häuser. Auf dem Grundstück wohnen auch noch andere, war bisschen ungewohnt, nicht störend.
Im Haupthaus sollte die untere Dusche mal kontrolliert werden, da hier nur wenig Wasser kommt, riecht im Hause auch nach kaltem Rauch vom Kamin. Der Eigentümer ist sehr freundlich und Francesco auch.
Fliegengitter vor allen Schlafzimmern wären extrem hilfreich. Bitte auch mehr Trinkgläser für bis zu 8 Personen, ist auch noch einen Empfehlung.

Zum Ort kann man laufen oder fahren, Einkaufen im Coop im Ort oder Metzger, Bäcker. Von ist Florenz gut zu erreichen, auch Siena. Früh losfahren wegen Parkplatz.

Castellina has many good restaurants and bars and we did not have a bad experience in our several visits The town museum and the view from the tower is worth visiting There is a wine “warehouse “ next to the panoramic car park with great deals on wines and olive oil The Co-Op has a good meat counter and bakery We made one trip to Pam Hypermarket in Poggi Bonsi where there is a massive range of foods fruit and vegetables

Casanovina is a beautiful villa in a stunning location. We had a lovely weeks stay there with the family.
The amenities make it very easy to cater for ourselves. We had some great meals cooked in and on the barbecue when the weather allowed and the outside eating area was a very nice bonus.
We used the pool, although pretty cold, and the table tennis which everyone really appreciated.
Francesco, our point of contact, was great and always quick to reply with any queries or problems. We really enjoyed the wine tour he organised for us at the local vineyard.
Castellina in Chianti is a pretty town about 20 mins walk from the villa, but be aware it is quite a strenuous uphill walk on the way there. The coop is useful for local shopping and quite well stocked.
The villa was easy to find coming from Florence airport and has plenty of parking.
A nice touch was a bottle of local wine and jar of honey left for us by the owner when we arrived.

We visited Florence, Siena and San Gimignano while we were there, all within about 45 mins or less drive from the villa. Be aware if going to Florence parking is not easy and there is a Restricted Traffic Zone near the centre. Huge fines can be expected if you drive in by mistake! There are lots of lovely places to eat in Castellina in Chianti. We ate in Rist Albergaccio and Sotto le Volte, both very nice. The winery on the other side of the road to the villa is well worth a visit, Castellare di Castellina. Very good tour, tasting and insight into the workings of the winery.

Der Besitzer und sein Verwalter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man konnte sich gut auf Englisch verständigen.

In Poggibonsi gab es 2 große Supermärkte zum Einkauf, einer liegt direkt an der Schnellsttrasse.
Dringend zu empfehlen -zumindest in den Schlafzimmern, ist es, Fliegengitter anzubringen. Wir wurden ziemlich zerstochen und der Schlaf war daher nicht so erholsam.
In Gesamtkomplex wohnten 2 Parteien, eine Wohnung befand sich oberhalb der kleineren Ferienwohnung, eine andere neben der größeren Ferienwohnung im Erdgeschoß und im 1. Stock.

Casanovina is a traditional villa in a great location. The outside spaces are wonderful for family dining and the pool is a really good size.
The bedrooms in the main house were very hot despite keeping shutters closed so fans would be a good addition.

Agroturismo Rocca for lunch and wine tasting

Casanovina was everything we expected with a To Tuscany villa. The check in with Francesco was seamless and he (as well as the owner) were absolutely lovely and friendly. They could not do enough to help and settle us in and throughout the stay were there with a cheery 'hello' and to see we were happy.

The villa was beautiful and had all the amenities you need for a home from home stay. There wasn't any air conditioning but we were offered fans should we need them. The pool is amazing, spacious and cleaned everyday. Plenty of sun loungers and pool towels provided.

The outside eating area was perfectly situated for dining and the bbq was big enough to enjoy many evening meals.

The location was just a 5 minute car journey to the town or a good 20-30 mins walk. The town itself had a very good value coop for food and supplies and plenty of good quality bars and restaurants.

We had visited this area before so did not travel out too far but Sienna and Florence are about 1 hour away and the town of Radda is just 15 minutes away. We found an brilliant small Deli/wine shop which served the best lunches and wine and we went there twice just down from the coop. Very friendly English speaking chef. You choose from the deli counter and they cook and prepare the lunch. Great knowledge of local wines. There is a great coffee shop which serves pastries in the day which is next door to the coop - modern looking and popular with the locals. Very good value and great coffee. Marcelleria Stiaccini - which is a butchers but you can also have lunch there, Just a few tables so best pre-book your lunch day and time. We bought our bbq meat there and also had lunch there - excellent! Ristorante la Bottega del Borgo - very friendly owner and staff. We had our last evening meal here and weren't disappointed. Lovely location opposite the church and popular with locals.

The Villa is ideally located for visiting the region. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and the outdoor areas are very well thought out - everything that was needed for a relaxing break.
